Season Greetings
The Coast open Spring Training gates
The sound of bats popping, blue skies overhead, and the smell of hot dogs filled Joe Hicks Memorial Field as the gates opened for the Coast’s season ticket holders, in honor of wrapping up the team’s first-ever Spring Training.
Guests knew they were in the right place not only from the music playing through the speakers, but also from the bright teal easy-ups welcoming them in.
As fans entered, they had the opportunity to purchase Coast and Regulators merchandise. And what is a baseball game without some good snacks? Glizzy Street was set up in the concourse grilling hot dogs and serving all the classic ballpark concessions.
With 36 players competing for just 25 roster spots, the final day of Spring Training gave players one last opportunity to show what they had as they left it all on the field.
Guests watched players warm up, work out, and face live hitting. They also got a preview of the Coast’s style of play as the team wrapped up practice with two live innings.
Before leaving, guests had the chance to meet the players, with plenty of smiles, photos, and autographs helping wrap up the event.
By tomorrow, the official roster for the inaugural Long Beach Coast season will be announced. The Coast will open their season on the road in Marysville, CA against the Freebirds in a three-game series.
