Long Beach Shows Up as Coast Captures First-Ever Win
Coast Fans Pack Trademark Brewing for Historic First Win
The time we have been waiting for has officially begun. The Long Beach Coast kicked off their season on the road, playing the Yuba Sutter Freebirds, and secured the franchise's first win, 10-6. Although they were on the road, it didn't mean fans didn't come out to support. Long Beach’s Trademark Brewing hosted the first-ever watch party for the Coast. Fans came out decked in Coast and Regulators merch to sit and watch history being made.
Qitiana Sapiga, Community & Fan Engagement Manager, spoke about how the organization looked for the perfect place to bring fans together.
“Trademark Brewing is our official concessions partner for the season, said Sapiga. “So, when we were playing with the idea of a watch party, there was no better place to have it.”
Watching the game wasn't the only activity for the event. Baseball Bingo was going on throughout the game. Everyone in attendance had a bingo card and had to pay close attention to the game to punch their cards. The first 10 bingos received a fun prize. The Emcee for the event was none other than one of in-stadium host, Ryan Sanders.
“He did great keeping the crowd lively, keeping entertaining,” said Sapiga. “That was just a small taste of what he's going to bring to Blair during the summer.”
As Opening Day quickly approaches in just two weeks, the turnout at the watch party served as another reminder of how excited the Long Beach community is to rally behind its new hometown team. From families and longtime baseball fans, the night showcased the growing connection between the Coast and the city they represent. If the atmosphere at Trademark Brewing was any indication, Long Beach baseball fans are more than ready for the season ahead.
“We don't have a team without the fans,” said Sapiga. We are very much a community-driven, community-focused team, and to have the support already from Long Beach makes us feel good, and we just want to do the city justice!”
Home Opener is June 2nd at Blair Field, marking the beginning of a new era of professional baseball in Long Beach as the Coast prepares to play their first game in front of their hometown fans.
