Bio

Earning the save and throwing the final out of the 2002 World Series for the champion Anaheim Angels, Percival made four all-star teams during his Major League career. He played 14 M.L.B. seasons from 1995 to 2009 with the first 10 years for the Angels, 2005 with the Detroit Tigers, 2007 on the St. Louis Cardinals, and 2008 and 2009 for the Tampa Bay Rays. He finished his career with a 3.17 earned run average, 35-43 record, 358 saves, and 781 strikeouts. His 316 saves in Anaheim rank first all-time in team history. Percival's son Cole currently pitches in the Mexican League for los Charros de Jalisco, having played in the minor league system for the Dodgers, Angels, Diamondbacks, Twins, and Yankees. 2026 marks his third season in the Pioneer League after managing Idaho Falls in 2024 and 2025, where he helmed 94-97 record. Percival earned his 100th professional win as manager when the Coast beat the Ballers in Oakland 9-5 on Thursday, May 28. He acted as the head coach at U.C. Riverside from 2015 to 2020. He managed his alma mater at Moreno Valley High School in 2013. Signed with Long Beach on November 20, 2025.
